Hi, and welcome to my third FUN-DNA tutorial: Crysis Sandbox | MegaTutorial part 03 - Spawning AI.

I assume that you have the Crysis Sandbox Editor installed.

After you made that sure you can follow these steps to spawn AI.
Note: As these tutorials are 'Step by step tutorials' I won't be doing any unneeded theory, which will spare you lots of reading, learning will mostly be done by working, not by reading all the time.

-1-

Start the editor if you haven't already, also load your level that we created in the previous tutorial.

-2-

First of all we'll need to add the list of AI to our map by going to: View>>Open View Pane>>DataBase View.
Under the Entity Library tab click the “Open Libary” button, Opening the “Asian_New.xml” file.

Close the window, Next go back to your RollupBar>>Objects>>Archetype Entity>>Asian New.
Select any unit you want.

If you can't get the unit to spawn on the terrain you created correctly, then make sure you have the 'Follow Terrain” function on, and then try again.

Press Ctrl+G and see what happens...
Most likely the unit you just created isn't responding... and doesn't attack you.
If so, make sure to generate the AI navigation:

-3-

Now the unit you created before should react and attack you, though It might happen that he runs away from you, when the distance between you and the AI is big enough...

To fix this we are going to create a AINavigationModifier, Which is located at: RollupBar>>Objects>>AI>>AINavigationModifier.

Click and drag the AINavigationModifier into the level, and click to add points to create a circle with single clicks around the AI as shown below.(fast dubble-click to end)

Set the Height to 10 and drag the AINM A bit down into the ground by clicking the Z axis.

Now you should have a AI that doesn't run away.

In the next tutorial I'll show you how to add vegitation..

Happy Modding!
